Sono progettati in funzione della dimensione della macchina che devono alimentare e possono avere testata fissa per l\u2019avanzamento di pezzi di forma regolare come ad esempio i blocchi i cemento oppure lastre e spessori in pietra con 6 lati segati oppure testata adattabile per l\u2019avanzamento di pezzi irregolari.
